My Interests

Exploring the passions that inspire and drive me

Meteorology

I have been interested in meteorology since i was very young. My interest and passion in the field has only strengthened over the years, and I am excited to be starting my second year pursuing a meteorology degree at the University of Oklahoma.

Student Government

As an Associate-At-Large in the Undergraduate Student Congress, I represent the entire student body within the Undergraduate Student Body. As an Associate, I am empowered to introduce legislation and make motions in committee.

Photography

I enjoy photographing sunsets, severe storms, and well-lit scenery. While by no means a professional, I always seek to improve the quality of my efforts in this area.

History

I have had a longtime interest in history. From the advances in numerical weather prediction to the dynamics that led to the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, I find the past very interesting because there are a lot of valuable insights that can be gleaned from these time periods. Also, there's some intriguing little tidbits, especially the further back in time you go.

Emergency Management

As a Scout, the wisdom of our motto "Be Prepared" was proven time and time again in many indoor and outdoor circumstances. However, I have always preferred to be prepared not just when in the outdoors, but in all aspects of my personal life. Of particular note, I have taken numerous online emergency management courses provided by FEMA. These courses provided me with the opportunity to learn about topics from continuity of operations planning to the National Infrastructure Protection Plan, among others.

Amateur Radio

I hold a General Class Amateur Radio License from the FCC, allowing me to use numerous types of handheld radios across a wide range of frequencies. In addition, I am a member of the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) and my local county Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES), where I combine my interest in radio with my interest in emergency management.
